Hello My Minions

After giving this much thought, I have decided to end this blog.

My life has changed radically over the last six months.

I no longer have access to most blogs, including my own, at work anymore, which severely limits my on-line time for such activities. In addition, my workload and responsibilities have increased, which give me little time during the day for such fun-filled activities anymore.

In addition, we are still dealing with my father’s health issues. There is a very good chance that he will be going home in the next few weeks, but, this will only slightly decease the amount of time I have been spending with him.

So, for the forseeable future at least, this is the end.

Fear not. I will not be vanishing into the aether, never to be heard from again!

The 21st Century beckons!

I am establishing a “new” presence on Facebook and once Husbandji and I have upgraded our cellphones to smartphones (an event that should take place in late September, providing that I still have a job!) I will be establishing a presence on Twitter as well!

Oh, Brave New Worlds!!!!

So you see, this really isn”t good-bye.

It’s till me meet again.

Hello My Minions

Things have gotten back to being crazy again, and as I suspected, my access at work didn’t last for long…

My father is about the same, although they are starting to have him walk more.

The problem is that he can’t seem to remember how to get himself out of his chair and do the walking from day to day.

It always seems as though he has to be reminded of how to get prepared for it.

So the rehab folk suspect that it might mean that he’s exhibiting some early signs of dementia.

They are going to give him a geriatric evaluation, and we’ll take it from there.

I’ll try to post again soon, but at this point I’m not sure when that will be.

Shhhh!

Be very, very, quiet!

I’m somehow blogging from work right now!

Apparently the “Powers That Be” have relaxed their “Internet hold on things” to some extent.

I don’t know how long this will last, so if I’m suddenly gone again for days at a time, you’ll know why!

So, anyway…

My father is still at the rehab facility. We had a somewhat sobering meeting with the staff last week, who basically told us that they aren’t sure if Dad is going to progress any further than he has so far.

It’s basically up to him now whether he decides to “pull up his bootstraps” and give it his all, or give up and resign himself to the fact that he will not be coming home.

This past weekend we brought him home for a visit on Father’s Day, and that seemed to give him a renewed sense of purpose, so we’re hopeful.

But only time will tell…

In other news, there is no other news. Work has been keeping me busy, and I probably won’t know for sure if I have anything to worry about “job-wise” until late September. Woo-Hoo.

There is one little “Tiamat” giggle though!

The Darling Nephew has caught a case of head lice.

We’re assuming that he got it at school.

Tiamat was babysitting him prior to this being discovered, and while she was babysitting she put the Darling Nephew’s cap on her head.

So now she’s freaking out because she thinks that she had head lice too!

Husbandji has had to stop by her house every night for the last week to check her out.

So far, no lice. (Oh poo!)

I keep telling her that I’d be happy to shave her head for her!

Husbandji doesn’t appreciate my sense of humor for some reason…

Hello My Minions

I’m going to take a break from blogging for a little while.

Between work, and the ongoing situation with my father (we’re not sure now if he will be coming home…) I just don’t have the time or energy to devote to this blog right now.

It’s even become a struggle just to do some “filler” postings.

So, you’ll see me around your blogs once a week or so, but, I won’t be doing anything here until my life gets a little more settled.

Hopefully by September at the latest.
