Ok hanuman is always a bit of a mystery to me – as I recal he is the son of krishna and parvathi (no?) and is supposed to be the ultimate devotee. But why are they singing to Ram – is Hanuman a devotee to Ram?

Tigeryogiji replies: He is an “avatar” (incarnation) of Shiva (the eleventh one) and he is a devotee to Ram. There are two or three different versions of his birth, and in some way I have to wonder if the “myths” came about as a result of politics so that there would be better relations between Shavites and Vashnavas. There are other myths in Hinduism where Krishna is a Ganesha Bhakt and Vishnu and Shiva worship each other! 🙂
