Drips, Drabs and the Usual Foolishness

Hello My Minions!

Sorry for the delay in posting, but, it’s been a busy last few days.

First things first. The birthday party this past Saturday.

Unbelievable.

To start things off, it was held at Husbandji’s brother “A”‘s house.

And as you will remember, he’s the one who always needs help with everything.

This party was no exception.

It was scheduled to start at 5PM, and Husbandji and Tiamat had been drafted asked to help get things ready.

Husbandji had assumed that they would go over around 3PM and see what still needed doing.

What time did they actually go?

11AM!!!

Why so early you ask?

Because A’s wife wasn’t feeling well, and A hadn’t even gone shopping for anyone’s birthday present yet!!!

When did Husbandji find out that they would have to go over there earlier?

At 8AM that morning!

So…as Husbandji was heading out the door, I told him not to forget his maid outfit(!) which earned me a dirty look, but, what could he say?

So, around 4:30 I drove myself over there, which was quite nice actually, as I didn’t have to listen to Tiamat spewing her usual litany of foolishness from the back seat.

I had made my famous guacamole dip (accompanied by blue corn tortilla chips) which, as always, was a huge hit! (I always bring home an empty bowl…) 🙂

Anyway, the party, as all of Husbandji’s family gatherings are, was barely controlled chaos.

Tiamat as usual was her annoying self.

She was first in line at the buffet. She had at least four glasses of wine during the evening. And she was shouting orders to her children for most of the evening.

But, believe it or not, she wasn’t the most annoying part of the evening.

Husbandji’s brother “M” and his wife “IW” (Idiot Wife) were.

They had, once again, brought uninvited their two young granddaughters, ages five and three.

Now don’t get me wrong, these are good kids, but most of the family feels that it’s presumptuous for them to keep bringing these kids to every event without at least asking ahead of time. It’s not like these kids live with them, and the rest of the family isn’t that close to the kids’ parents (who, by the way, don’t attend any of the family’s functions), so no one understands why they keeping bringing them.

But of course, no one wants to say anything about it.

Typical.

Anyway, when the time came for the Darling Nephew to open his presents, both of the grandaughters sat down next to him and started helping him open his gifts! Sometimes even before he got to them himself!

And neither M nor IW said a word!

Now I ask you My Minions, is this normal behaviour at a kid’s birthday party? I’m out of my realm of knowledge here.

The Darling Nephew is only three, so you could tell that he wasn’t quite sure why they were “helping” him or for that matter, how to react to it.

At one point IW spoke up.

“Audrey!”, she called to the older granddaughter.

“Audrey!”. (Finally, I thought! She’s going to tell them to let The Darling Nephew open his gifts on his own!)

“Audrey, I love you!!”

What. The.  F**k?!!!

I thought that I was going to have a stroke.

But, I bit my tongue. I already have a reputation for speaking my mind in Husbandji’s family (can you imagine that?!) so I decided to just keep my mouth shut.

Fortunately, M and IW left shortly after that, as they “had to get the girls ready for bed”, but believe me, there were plenty of little group conversations once they had left concerning them!

And I learned something else about them.

Something unbelievable. (I’m sitting here as I type this, still shaking my head just thinking about it!)

It was one of the older niece’s birthdays a short time ago.

M and IW, as is their custom, gave the niece a check instead of taking the time to shop for something.

The check bounced.

Can you believe that?!!!

Their own niece!!

Just when I think that they can’t top their atrocious behaviour, they somehow manage to do just that!

In other news, we finally got new phones!

We both decided on the Motorola RAZR V3. So far we’re very happy with them!

Bwahahahaha!! Now I have a camera phone! Expect to see some “interesting” photos in the months to come! (As soon as I remember that I have it with me in order to take them!) 🙂

The Twins are doing well! They’re gaining weight every day, and according to my nephew “Z”, they’re crying a lot!

I guess that’s all for now! Talk to you all soon!

    hmm.

I wonder – might they be babysitting these kids for cash? Maybe they’re strapped and thats why they have to take them everywhere?

    Still -> weird!

By three, my kids were tearing into gifts with glee. He can open his own gifts, maybe get the tearing started for him, but then they need to let him do it.

    Glad you had fun.

in my office is a framed cartoon of a young girl standing on one side with the rest of her family standing in line/alinged on the other side.
the father says “Bad new. We’re all out of our minds. You are going to have to be the own sane member of this family”
I think of you when I read it.

TigerYogiji replies: LMAO! That made my day! 🙂
